10 Senseless and Sudden Ways to Die
1. The Music Was Too Loud
Beware how loud you play your music when driving. Young 17-year-old Jordan Davis and 3 friends were chilling in their SUV at a local gas station and had their tunes cranked up.
A Florida man by the name of Michael Dunn took offense to the noise and told the young men to turn the music down.

The boys ignored Dunn’s request to turn down the volume so he got out his weapon and returned and shot all 4 youths. Jordan was unfortunately killed and the other young people were seriously wounded.
Dunn was subsequently charged with 1 count of murder and 3 counts of second-degree murder.
He was sentenced to life in prison with no possible chance for parole.
2. Don’t Leave Children Unattended
A couple was staying at a New York hotel and decided to drop into the gaming room located in their hotel. They left their 7-year-old son David Smee, and his 6-year-old sister to look after themselves.
The children soon became bored. Located on the 27th floor of the hotel, the kids became fascinated by what they perceived as the “ant things” they saw down below at street level.
They decided it would be fun to drop things on them.
They started dropping small things at first, such as fruit, and then quickly progressed to dropping larger items such as chairs, drawers and even a television set.
3 pedestrians walking below, minding their own business were struck and killed by these items.
3. But I thought It Was a Deer
A well-known politician, Natasha Pettigrew, a potential candidate for the U.S. Senate and member of the Green Party was also heavily into training for triathlons.
While riding her bike early one morning she was struck by what looked to be a very large SUV.
The driver of the SUV didn’t realize she had hit Ms. Pettigrew and believed she had hit a deer and drove the rest of the way home. She claimed that she had simply decided to leave the “deer” on the side of the road.
The driver also had not realized that the entire bicycle was still stuck to the undercarriage of the SUV and was there when police came to her home.
4. Facebook Unfriending Taken Way Too Far
The Internet is a great way to connect with people, especially through social media websites like Facebook.
However, sometimes there can be a dark side to how people interact with one another.
Social media is having an impact. Sadly, not all of these impacts are positive. There is a dark side to this technology that involves reputation blackmail and extortion. The Dark Side of Social Media, Richard Wilson, Sentium Strategic Communication
Sadly….even murder. In Mountain City, Billy Clay Paine and Billie Jean Hayworth were being both harassed and threatened by one of their social contacts, Janelle Potter.
After feeling threatened by the tone of her messages, the pair thought it wise to defriend Jenelle.
Jenelle was so upset by the action of the couple, she complained to her father, Marvin Potter.
Marvin and Janelle’s boyfriend, Jamie Curd grabbed their shotguns and stormed over to Paine’s and Hayworth’s residence and shot the pair.
The couple was found dead, Billie still holding their six-month-old baby who remained alive in his lifeless arms.

5. An iPhone Shocker
An iPhone seems an innocent enough device…right? How many of us think our cell phones pose a serious health risk? Well for 18-year-old Wu Weyuan her iPhone spelled the end of her life.
In August 2014 Wu’s sister came home to a burning smell. When she went upstairs to see what was causing it, she found her charred sister dead in her bed.
A knock-off iPhone charger delivered a fatal shock – killing the young woman in her sleep.
Saving a few bucks came at a high price for Wu.
6. Death By Segway
Segways – those lovable 2-wheeled vehicles that have become very popular. It’s nearly impossible to imagine how one could die while driving one of these easygoing means of transport.
Well…life is full of strange irony.
In 2010, James W. Heselden purchased Segway Inc, an English company.
In a very strange twist of fate, Mr. Heselden happened to be driving one of these vehicles near a cliff and somehow, managed to plummet to his death.
Who would have guessed that might happen?
7. Some Terrorists Aren’t Too Bright
In Pakistan, terrorists by the name of Ghulam Rasul and Muhammad Sultan were sitting on a park bench. They both were wearing suicide vests.
It is not clear who or what they planned to target, but the idea that they planned to happily kill themselves along with a number of innocent people, is and of itself too bizarre for those of us who live in the western part of the world to comprehend.
This is where the planned suicide attack gets even stranger. The two terrorists were observed getting into an argument.
As the argument escalated, the pair stood up and began pushing each other while still wearing their suicide vests. It’s not a good idea to jar explosives!
Needless to say, there was a rather large explosion – or possibly two – in which both of these would-be suicide bombers were blown to smithereens.
The good news in this terrible debacle is that the only two casualties were the terrorists.
8. Drinking and Driving is Stupid
We have all seen endless commercials documenting all the sensible reasons why drinking and driving is not a good mix. Well, if you haven’t gotten the message yet, this might help hammer the message home.
Alcohol and drugs significantly impair a person’s ability to concentrate and make decisions. That includes legal, prescription, and illicit substances. These substances can affect your motor skills, judgment, and reflexes.
Don’t Drive Stupid.
Two buddies went to a bar and drank far too much. The driver was making his way home quite erratically, and at some point veered too close, sideswiping a telephone pole. To his relief, he managed to make it home where he fell asleep in his clothes.
Not so bad so far eh? Not quite, because the driver awoke to find his clothes soaked in the blood of his friend.
What happened? Well, when he hit the telephone pole, his friend, unfortunately, had his head hanging out the window.
The driver never even realized that his friend, whose lifeless body still remained in the car outside the home had been decapitated by the collision!
Don’t Drink and Drive!!!
9. Beware of Those Deadly Cows
They might look innocent while grazing away in the fields, but cows can kill!
Well… this might be a bit of an over-exaggeration – but, for one Brazilian man who fell asleep thinking he would wake up again to see the sunrise, a curious cow would bring that comfort to a close.
It turned out, that the home of this unfortunate man happened to abut a hill which was pasture to some local domestic cows.
One night a hapless cow made its way onto the man’s roof, quietly contemplating the night sky.
Well, it seems the roof wasn’t built to hold the weight of a cow and the surprised bovine crashed through fatally injuring the poor man as he lay asleep.
The cow was fine.
10. The Fatal Selfie
The narcissistic practice of taking selfies has become all the rage these days.
Perhaps, there should be some rules that govern taking a selfie, because, for one Texan man by the name of Deleon Smith, it spelled the end for him.
Deleon was 19 at the time and wanted to try to look cool while posing with a gun.
There’s nothing wrong with this, as this happened in Texas after all, but the first thing every gun-wielding Texan learns is never to point a loaded weapon at anyone and always treat a gun as if it’s loaded.
He did not survive this selfie.
